Advent blog-a-long #6

IMGP3557

Ok crafty bloggers, I need your help with this one. We have these gorgeous wreaths at work that have these little polystyrene apples and berries on them. They are just beautiful. When I was at work yesterday I was tidying up and found one of the little apples had fallen off a wreath (or possibly some garland, not sure) and my boss said to just throw it in the bin. What! It's too cute, I had to keep it. My boss thought I was nuts, why would I want it. I immediately stuck it on my head and she cracked up. Now, here is where I need some help. Our work Christmas do is on Saturday night and I want to fashion this little apple into a head piece of some sort to either prove how awesome I am, or how much of a dick I really am. Either way is fine with me.

So, hit me, what do I do with this apple? Add some feathers maybe?? I really am serious, please help!

I don't think this will be much help. All I can think is a tiny gold arrow flying into the apple, perhaps in transit. Not sure how but it would be spectacular.

It is too gorgeous to throw out

It may be an apple, but my first thought when I saw it was cherry, which made me think of some sort of christmas pavlova hat:) totally silly I know but can't you just see the meringue as the hat/headpiece and then all the glittery fruit on top? good luck! Cyndy

It should glue very nicely to a plastic headband... and some feathers or leaves with it too.... I'm not terribly imaginative but I am going to come back here and see what everyone else says!!!

If it were bigger you could do something like this: http://trishatara.blogspot.com/2011/03/adr-anna-dello-russo.html (and be totally high fashion....) or do a minature vintage pancake hat like this: http://en.dawanda.com/product/11744338-Headpiece-Vintage-apple (and be totally retro...), or maybe something Cinderella inspired....? I am sure that you will come up with something.....

I suggest you make a fascinator...

Take a hairband, the apple, a glue gun and some wire. Wind the wire round a pencil to form a spring. Glue the apple on the spring (maybe add a leaf or two) and glue the spring on to the hairband. Voila!!
