Update...

floods Jimboomba

Seems we're almost flooded in here. The sun is out, so we thought we'd try to head out to get a few things before panic buying set in and everything was bought from the shelves. This is what we were met with. For anyone who knows this area at all, this is Cusack lane. There is a road in there somewhere! This road does go under quite frequently, but I have never seen it like this before. And we're about 50 kms out of Brisbane. Just insane!

And no, that is not my kid in the water. Some people are just idiots.

How awful! Great news that the sun is out though. Hope it hangs around for a few days at least. I'm guessing you didn't get to the shops then? My brother's new family aren't fairing so well with one house flooded and the inlaws currently being sandbanked. Not good at all.

Water can be frightening, I hope it will quickly receed, although of course going back to normality will take some time.
Thinking of you all.

It is horrible - we are only 8km from the city - and have no water here - but feel so helpless. Stay safe - if you have power you could make damper!

YIkes, hope you are a little way back from there? Hoping the water levels go down as fast as they usually do, but judging by the state I highly doubt it :(

Stay safe xxx

Thinking of you and yours at this worrying time.

Hope the sun stays out to dry up all the flooding soon.

Hugs, Justine xx

God, that's a kid? Some parents (and some children for that matter) are idiots! All the best. Hope you are able to get food soon!

Oh Selina, I do hope the floods go down soon. I have been following the news here in Scotland and have been really worried for my Australian blogging buddies. We were practically snowed in for the month of December and with fresh snow still falling it's getting a bit depressing. Such freakish weather all over just now...
Please stay safe with your family and think of Paris.. It's not long now is it ?

yes.. i seem to say people are idiots at least once a day, actually. Feel like pushing that lady in (but only if it is HER kid)

I hope things don't get crzy and you stay safe and dry
