Still working on the Kinder Girl. All that's left is the assembly. I have loved making this dolly. Jodies pattern writing ability is fabulous. Very easy to follow, I haven't even had to ask Jodie for help!
Hopefully after I get all the tedious chores out of the way today, I can finish her off.
I just love the little face, I must admit though, I am a little worried about embroidering the facial features, I hope I can do her justice. I can see many more little Kinder Girls in the future. The doctors flannel arrived yesterday, and I'm already planning the next one.
More action going on here.
Ahem. It has been "suggested" by a fellow blogger, who shall remain nameless, that the inspiration for my daughter's coffee monster from the previous post, may in fact be me.
Now, I would like to state for the record, that that is simply unfounded. I do not have a coffee obsession. I do not stumble out of bed in the mornings and head straight for the coffee machine. I do not have an unnatural attraction to the older Italian gentleman who makes my tall, flat white, 2.5 sugars for me when I am at work. I do not purchase my coffee beans from this same coffee shop every week and try desperately with my home espresso machine to replicate said flat white. I have not lain awake for the last few nights thinking of the photos I will take of every coffee I consume while in France next year, to then come home and make up a special photo book of all the coffees, some in black and white, some sepia toned, oh, oh and some with the really cool special effect I have on my new camera that makes your shot look like a pastel drawing, yeah that would look cool.........
No, nameless blogger, I do not have a coffee obsession. I am not a monster.
I'm excited by my creative space this week. The big kid in me finally went and bought a Kinder Girl pattern from Jodie. I've been gathering all the little bits and pieces I need.
I've cleared the decks and am hoping when Miss 12 gets dropped off at horse camp on the weekend I can get stuck into this. I've got nothing else on all week, except one day of work, and I'm really looking forward to the nothingness of it!
The first one I make is going to be in calico. Jodie suggests doctors flannel, which is on the way as I speak (type) but I was worried I would ruin it. So hopefully this one still turns out good, and then she can head off for Operation Christmas Child.

Miss 12 has been a little obsessed with the sock dolls from last week, and her sewing skills have improved. This is a coffee monster, apparently.
And one more thing, check out the fab giveaway at Retromummy, but don't enter or anything, just have a look, 'cause this one is all mine!
So, I took Barbara down to Handmade Heaven this morning. Along with some chenille Christmas Stockings and a chenille Christmas Tree skirt. I love Christmas so much and always get excited to see the Christmassy items come out.
I've also reduced all my quilts by 20% until the 16th of October. After that they will be pulled out of the shop, possibly until next year. So go and grab a bargain!
Isn't she beautiful? All finished and heading off to Handmade Heaven tomorrow.
This week I have a few things going on. I haven't started the lounge pants from last week yet. I got some great new (to me) chenille that I have wanted forever, and got distracted.
That's the brown blob there, almost a bunny, made from the most gorgeous chocolate peacock chenille. And I picked up this great book from the library the other day and Miss 12 wanted to get in on the creative space action by turning a stray sock into some sort of creature. I like its little pink face.
This is the chocolate peacock chenille, for those who have never seen one. I love it to bits. I can now die a happy woman.
Thanks Kirsty for hosting.
We like short shorts!
One pair down from Thursdays creative space. 50cent pattern from Vinnies and recycled t-shirt. I'm loving this re-fashioning thing!
Miss 12 is not too sure about the 29 on her bum, but I think it's cute.
Well, once I finally finished these for my long suffering customer,
I could finally move on to a little project I have had in mind.I have seen all over the internets people making things (bags, purses, etc) out of those juice pouch things. I thought as much as I like the idea of the juice pouch, it would defeat the whole purpose of reusing if I went out and bought some, just to make a coin purse.
Miss 12 has one of these in her lunch everyday, and now she will bring the empties home to me. It needs some work I know, but I love it.
Recycled popper, 20c zip from the op shop, just priceless.
Stashing it up. Mmmm, gorgeous new (to me) vintage chenille.
So, with the weather warming up in South East Queensland, I decided it's time to have a little sale of my vintage chenille baby quilts. All my quilts currently at Handmade Heaven are 10% off.

This is one of my favourites. It's just sitting over there, waiting for you to come and buy it.....go on, I know you want to!
Yes, I'm back in the game.
This week I have refashioning plans. Just starting small. Summer weight lounge pants from a vintage sheet for me, and pj shorties for Miss 12 from cast off t-shirts from Mr Vintage's wardrobe.
Check out other creative spaces here.
Well, I guess I must be feeling better, I even felt like baking today.
