Shop update

I've just added a few new things to my etsy shop, if you happen to be interested!

Didn't do that well at the market on the weekend, but the needlecases were a hit.

Heritage week

If on Sunday, you find yourself wanting to do something in Brisbane for Heritage week, why not pop out to Wolston House at Wacol.

There will be Devonshire tea available, have a look through a couple of craft stalls and a trash and treasure stall. There will be folk dancers, sausage sizzle, and a display of vintage womens dresses and laces. Oh, and I'll be there too!

Day 5 of loot, and my batteries are dead

Well, I tried to take some pics of my recently acquired loot, then the batteries went dead in my camera. Love the lithiums, but they don't give you much notice when they are about to cark it!

Anyway, I did manage to take one photo of some loot. The green moda fabric I picked up today for a secret project, secret from my mother who does read my blog so we'll leave that one alone for now! The honeybuns I picked up a little while back from the same place I got the moda today. It's my little local patchwork shop, that is so lovely, it's really worth the visit! If you ever pop in, tell Tereasa I sent you!

I did have some Spotlight loot to show as well, some cute little things that I will be using to make stuff for a little market I will be attending next week. I have little hair accessories, pincushions and needlecases and coffe cup cosies planned, we'll see how I go with all that!

the market, and a rant

Well, I have to say that I'm a little disappointed about my market stall on Sunday. I don't really understand what it is about people that makes them not appreciate your hardwork and feel you should be paid reasonably for it. To me it seems that we have become such a throw away society and are used to purchasing low quality, cheap items imported from countries where they are paid an absolute pittance for their hardwork, that we no longer are able to recognise the value of people's creativity and craftsmanship.

I don't know if it was just the wrong venue for me, or if people just really don't have the money to spend. I found everyone to be friendly, and seemed to love my products, but when they saw what I was asking for them, they turned and walked away. Only one person commented on just how much work she could see had gone into some of my things.

It can be very disheartening. And also a little humiliating. For those of you that have very successful market stalls, could you share some advice? I would love to hear your tips on a successful stall.

to market, to market

If you decide tomorrow that you feel like heading out for a day trip to Beaudesert , Mt Tamborine or Boonah, and you're driving through Jimboomba, why not stop in to the Hills Fresh Market at Hill's College. Right on the corner of the Mt Lindesay highway and Johanna st Jimboomba, from 7am until 12 pm.

one for the boys

I realised the other day that I had made many little quilts using chenille, but none of them were suitable for a little boy.

So with this market I'm attending on Sunday in mind, I thought I might whip together a little quilt for the boys. This one I thought would be good as either a baby quilt, or as a runner for a single bed, so I put the pom pom trim on the two short sides.

The chenille along with Cath Kidston cowboy fabric is quite cute I think. Just have to back it now, and it's coming along on Sunday

my creative space...

This week my creative space has been the dining table.

A little production line of cut out bags at the moment. All in the anticipation of a little market I will be attending on the 15th of March.

It wasn't until last Sunday when I actually realised it was only 2 weeks away! eek!
