This week I have done something to my neck. Don't know if I just slept funny or what, but it has been quite sore most of the week. Doesn't really help when I have to finish off my submission for the show, but I'm sure I can suffer through the pain long enough to get it done!
So, I haven't really been that creative! Just thinking a lot about being creative. Looking through books and dreaming, and fondling new (well vintage, but new to me!) chenille that I have wanted for very long time!
Check out more creative spaces over here, hope you find more inspiration than you did here!

my creative space...
This week I was hoping to have pics of my wonderfully organised and clean craft room to show you all, but I'm afraid it actually looks worse than last week, so we'll just move right along!
The only spare spot in the room (next to the sewing machine) has been taken up with chenille squares, about 200 altogether at the moment! Some are for a lovely pink and white queen size patchwork quilt custom order I am making, and some for chenille squares listed on ebay.
Also currently sorting out the button stash, because that's really important you know, much more important than having a tidy work space.
Other creative types over here.

goodies
O.k. So I said I would post pics of the goodies that will be heading down to Cam as winner of my giveaway, but I'll be honest, I've been having a little affair with my sewing machine today, and haven't got around to sorting all the prize stuff out yet let alone taking photos of it!
I have a little sneak peek at one item though,
And this is what has been taking all my time,
Isn't she a beauty! (even if I do say so myself!) When she is all finished she will be going to the show. Wish me luck!

and the winner is.....
You are probably not going to believe this but the winner is...
Curlypops!
She really is! I think it's only fitting that the winner be the one who inspired this little giveaway anyway. Her name was really drawn out of the hat (or chenille basket in this case!) and it wasn't rigged!
Thanks for everyones efforts to make me gain weight, I'll post pics soon as I make (and consume) the recipes people sent.
I'll post pics tomorrow of the goodies that will be heading down to Cam.
Thanks again!

entries closed
Thanks to everyone who sent me their fattening recipes! The entries are now closed for the giveaway.
I will be going over the recipes this week, and sampling my favourites. As I only got about 7 entries I will just be popping them all in a hat and drawing one out. I will let you all know the winner in the next day or two.
Thanks again for helping me out! I will gain those kilos yet!

my big pants
When I saw this chenille I knew I had to have a pair of lounge pants from it. It's soo yummy, pink white and grey chenille, so thick, so fluffy.
Now I look like I have put on the 3 kilos I need!
Oh, and by the way, how hard is it to take a good photo of yourself wearing pants! Thanks for the help Mr. Vintage!
pants are much nicer in real life! a photographer Mr. Vintage is not!

Thanks Cam for the inspiration, it was so delicious! Got the recipe from here, give it a go, you won't regret it! (well, your hips might, but you won't!)
I have only received a few entries for my competition, so I will extend the deadline for entry until Monday night (Australian time) so get sending me your recipes!

my creative space...
Joining in a bit late with my creative space this week. There are a number of reasons why, one of which I actually lost my camera for a day! And I'm about to reveal why.
This week I have taken a bit of a different tack with my creative space. I am going to shame myself, and show my absolutely disgraceful mess of a "creative space".
You will often hear me say, " without chaos, there is no creativity" but even for me this is getting ridiculous! The room has swallowed my tape measures (yes plural), unpickers (yes again, plural), and all sorts of other things I know that I have bought, but just can't find.
I hope that by showing you all this it will shame me into actually doing something about it!
Well, here goes! Please, judge away!
Oh, and don't forget to check out my giveaway in the post below! After I do some serious sorting with this lot, there should be some fabulous things to put towards the giveaway!

A bit of a giveaway
Image from here
I have a bit of a strange giveaway for you all. Well, what I'm giving away is not strange, but the rules for entering the giveaway are a little strange.
I was at my doctors appointment today, and I have been told I really need to put on 3 kilograms ( is that about 7.5 pounds?? not too sure!) in the next month. Now, before you all roll your eyes, I have a lot of trouble putting on weight, and it can be as hard for me to put it on as it is for some of you to lose it.
So I thought I might have a little contest. I want you to send me your most fattening recipes you can think of. Only yummy ones please! The more chocolate the better! I will then pick a few that sound really good, make them, eat them, (duh) and judge the yummiest to be the winner!!
Now to what you will win. Haven't thought about the finer details of that yet, but it will be good. How about some vintage goodies, fabrics, patterns, buttons, and maybe even a little something handmade by me. Does that sound good!
I have decided that Cam from Curlypops is already entered by default as the Mars Bar cheesecake I saw on her blog the other day inspired this little competition.
I will leave this open until Sunday afternoon (Australia time) so get sending. Either via email or send a link to the recipe in my comments.
I look forward to eating some very yummy things!

love long weekends
Well I hope everyone has been having a great long weekend!
I've been finishing off custom orders and getting inspired by Easter and some gorgeous new chenille I picked up. I've whipped together another little baby quilt that I just love so much!
Gorgeous colours of pink and yellow. I have listed it in my store here and here. I love putting together these little quilts, but having no one to make them for, offer them up for sale so I can buy more chenille!
I really love how the brown and cream quilt came out, and I'll be very sorry to see that one go! Guess this means I need to make myself a similar one! Stay tuned!

My little China Girl
You may (or may not) remember when I blogged here about my little China girl having major surgery that she wasn't really expected to live through.
Look at her now, 13 years old and acting like a pup! She's one tough old bitch! When I grow up, I want to be as tough as her !

The tissuebox demon
Easter craft
Note to self: when the tutorial calls for iron-on interfacing, don't be a tight arse, just go and buy some!
Hope everyone has some lazy days planned ahead (or not, if that's your thing!)
mmm, sorry about the photos, it appears my camera may well be on the way out. You'd think working in a photo store, I would be on the ball with these things!

chenille love
I've had a few comments lately about my chenille and where I get it from. Most of my plain chenille, you know the stuff that you used to find on most beds in Australia during the '70's, I get from op shops or ebay. The really nice stuff (or boutique chenille) usually has to come from the U.S. While I do sell some chenille in my ebay shop, there is one other on ebay that has a supply like no other. Shaz*b*art has the best assortment of vintage chenille you are ever likely to find.
Pop on over here for a peek, I guarantee you will be drooling by the time you've looked through her shop! Sharon is one of the best sellers I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with on ebay, friendly, efficient, just fabulous!

my creative space...
Well, my lack of posting this week has not been due to lack of crafting. In fact, it's the opposite! I've been crafting away like crazy!
I've got two custom quilts on the go at the moment, and I'm loving one of them more than any I've ever done. It's for a boy with brown and cream chenille squares, and it's so nice (if I do say so myself!).
So, in my creative space, (well in this photo anyway!!) we have, chenille and cutter quilt pieces from last week that have morphed into a bunny, chenille squares for a custom quilt, and the brown and cream chenille quilt top.
I've also bought a little bootie pattern from here, and plan on felting up some jumpers (sweaters) and making some little booties.
For more creative spaces, pop over to Kirsty's and see who else is playing along.
