ParisA8So the real countdown for me has begun. In 12 weeks exactly we will be heading to the airport, about to board a plane for France. Honestly, I am starting to freak out a little. I spent a rather restless night stressing over silly things last night. Am I going to have enough spending money? How much is enough spending money? Will I have the right clothes? What sort of bag should I have to deter pickpockets? And the thing I am stressing about the most, will I be fit enough to get all I can out of this adventure? Regular readers may remember all the way back here how I started walking in order to get fit for this trip. Well here, the weather has had other ideas. It has rained constantly for months, no joke. So my walking went completely out the window. But I'm determined to try something, if only to stop my brain from keeping me awake at night stressing! Feel free to pull me up every now and then with a very stern, "how's that exercise coming along hmmm?". Wish me luck, I think I'm going to need it.
I've really taken my reasonably good health for granted. Ended today's walk in tears. I have to keep the end goal in sight.
Ok, so I suck. Last time I actually went for a walk, according to my last walking post, was October 4. Yep, I really suck. Walking this morning was so hard it felt like day 1 all over again. So much so that technically this should probably be week 1 all over again. But for the sake of chronology we'll just say week 8 and move on from there. I've got 5 months now before we go to France and I need to be fit!
And hello pasty white legs!

Alright. So lets just pretend that this really is week 7 and that last week didn't exist. Agreed?
Rainy mornings and school holidays make for great excuses not to go walking. Put the big girl pants on and went anyway.
I'm hoping that these photos will start to look a little different soon!

Week 5: You would think it should be getting easier. Today was the hardest day yet. I tried to think of any excuse I could to not go walking. Sucked it up and pushed through. I really hope I can keep this up.
Week 4: I'm a little impressed with myself that I've managed to keep this up. Shoes still shiny though.....
Week 3: Enthusiasm wearing thin. Suck it up Selina.

Week 2: The shine has yet to come off the nikes. Still hanging in there though, that's got to be a good sign.
I'm on a mission to get fit. With my health issues and my age it's time to really take control of this. I've been told by my health team it's not too late. I've got time to turn myself around and keep on top of this. I just need to work at it. Something I have tried my whole life to ignore. Now I'm terrible at keeping any kind of a diary or journal, so I am going to document my success (yes, I said success) here. Not going to bore everyone with the details. Just once a week post a photo of my shoes. I figure they are going to show best of all how I'm going. The dirtier they get, the fitter I am. Make sense?
Week 1: Brand spanking new nikes.
