The Great Australian Vintage Sheet fq Swap

Aren't they just delicious? Twenty three gorgeous fat quarters of vintage sheet goodness.

Thank you so much Ange, you did a marvelous job to organise this, you are a champion!

my creative space...

In a last minute decision to make something for Miss 12 (13-tomorrow), I whipped up some gloves/wrist warmer things. She had been eyeing off mine for a while so with the sleeves of a felted jumper and about 5 minutes of my time she has something to open tomorrow! I'm taking her on a 3 hour trail ride tomorrow through the Gold Coast hinterland and you can't exactly wrap a horse now can you, and every 13 year old needs to open a pressie on her birthday.

And how hard is it to take a photo of your own hand!!

Head over to Kirsty's for all the creative goss.

Laundry love...

My life will not be complete until I own one of these vintage elephant clothes sprinklers. Why oh why is postage so expensive from the U.S?!

Flea Market finds

I haven't joined in with Flea Market finds in weeks! It's not that I haven't been op shopping, I just haven't found anything particularly blog worthy. But this week I found something very sweet.

So unassuming from the outside, I spotted this little red wallet. I wondered as I headed toward it what lovely treasures would be inside. And I wasn't disappointed.

Tiny little vintagey pegs. Sold.

Still a bit to do, but certainly a big improvement on last week. At least now I can see the floor!

my creative space...

It's been a while since I joined in with my creative space. Time to get back in the groove I think.

This week apart from my usual chenilley goodness, I'm going back to one of my old favourites. Cross stitch. I had a photo turned into a counted cross stitch pattern over here and am just gathering my supplies. I bought some ecru aida cloth but I think now I want a steely grey instead. It looks all doom and gloom with all the greys, but this cross stitch is going to be something quite special that I know I will love :)

What are you doing tomorrow?

The Handmade Expo is on tomorrow. I won't be having a stall there but some of my stuff is going along with Liesa. I will be there at some stage eating. I've heard the woodfired pizzas are really good. Mmmmm, woodfired pizza. Can't wait!

Saturday 17th July8am-2pm
The Ipswich Turf Club,

These fine quilts are now in Handmade Heaven too, if you're interested. The nights are getting chilly again in South East Queensland, better get in quick before all the quilts are gone!

A bad case of deja vu

Flash back to August last year.

Does this look eerily similar? No wonder I can't find my sewjo.

The most patient swap partner ever

Well, that would be Sofia. After a few bad weeks I finally got around to finishing off my apron for Sarah's swap (quite late) and Sofia informs me that it has arrived safe and sound. So now I can show it off.

Even though Sofia's blog is in Portuguese, you can't help but tell that she loves butterflies. So I wanted to include butterflies somehow into her apron. I found a great vintage table runner on etsy that had the prettiest butterfly embroidery on it and I went from there. With my laundry obsession in full flight I also knew I wanted to make her a peg apron. And this is the end result. I loved how it turned out and have even considered doing a tutorial for another one. Anyone interested?

These aren't the best photos. It was an overcast day when I finally finished it and I just wanted to hurry up and get it in the post! Hopefully Sofia will have some better ones on her blog.

Thanks again Sarah for organising such a fun swap!

Jetsetting Mabel

This is "Mabel". She's now in The land of the long White Cloud. The first of my bunnies to head overseas. I hope it's not too cold for her!
